Following our April 27th wedding in Traverse City, Michigan, Andrea and I took our honeymoon to Jamaica from May 3 to May 10. All winter we had been planning a honeymoon traveling to Andrea’s ancestral roots in Scandinavia. But as winter dragged on, and I do mean dragged on,…

Our Honeymoon was amazing! Here is Jim’s trip report of our newlywed adventures!

One of the highlights of our Jamaican honeymoon was our dolphin swim! I was completely charmed by these beautiful dolphins. The one we got to spend some one on one time with was Ziggy, a sweet and silly male dolphin. These really are smart, fun and delightful creatures. We spent about a half hour in the dolphin cove. We learned the hand signals before hitting the water, so the dolphin would perform various tricks for us. We had a chance to “pet” the dolphin on his back and belly. We took a belly to belly ride with the dolphin. We held out our outstretched arms and Ziggy swam up and reached out his fins for us to grab on, then he pulled us across the cove! He was a surprisingly fast swimmer! After that we had the chance to kiss and be kissed by Ziggy. He sang and danced for us too. Before the show was over he showed off his jumping skills, dolphins can jump 15 feet out of the water! It was an amazing experience! Jim really enjoyed it too, and he was just going along with it not expecting much! Do it if you get the chance!

New Blog

After spending a half hour digging deep in the the recesses of my mind to remember the password and email of my old tumblr blog, I gave up and started this new one. Its fitting anyway; new life, new blog.

My Peace Corps blog “The Surreal Life” is still out there. A live memorial of my surreal days in Indonesia. http://andreanorris.tumblr.com. It seems metaphorical somehow that I can no longer access this site. You can’t really add to memories, can you.
